A small group of about twenty gathered in Lapeer to discuss industrial hemp. Special thanks to John who cooked hemp heart encrusted chicken, potatoes, roasted vegetables and apple fritter type of dessert! We did more than enjoy the food though. Dave discussed the who, what, where, when and why of industrial hemp and a special guest, Valorie Aloisio, of Hemp Lifestyle Network provided detailed information about the role of the Endocannabinoid System in restoring balance to the Endocrine System with the use of cannabidiol. Valorie also serves on the advisory board for Kannaway. Kannaway was created by Medical Marijanna, Inc., the first publicly traded marijuana stock. A full line of organically grown CBD products are available through them. Currently, their products are produced in Europe.

The discussion after the presentations and dinner was priceless. We all shared our thoughts and ideas about testing, drying, pollination, and harvesting. Farmers present ranged from as little as half an acre to 25 acres.

Our next Hemponomics 101 meeting will be in Lansing at the Raddison. They are going to put on a great dinner for us. We hope to see you there!
